During the winter of 2006-2007, Patrick Blanc has transformed the Espace EDF Electra in a huge tropical greenhouse. 
  
Through six installations, made with the help of designer Alexis Tricoire, comprising a total of over 2,000 plants of 100 different species, and a gallery of photographs, Patrick Blanc reflects the extraordinary adaptability of plants to extreme environments such as water currents, the dark woods  and caves.

Botanist and researcher at the CNRS, Patrick Blanc is also the inventor of the Wall plant. The walls that he realized  worldwide, from the very first at the City of Science and Industry in 1988 until the Musée du Quai Branly, have propelled him to the front of the arts.
But Patrick Blanc is primarily a scientist, devoted nearly thirty years observing the flora in the sub-tropical timber. There he studied to better understand the strategies of plants to grow in circles yet low level of resources (water, light, minerals).
For Folies plant, blue begonias,  aerial roots,  brown leaves similar to dead leaves  invent an unexpected universe, surprising in diversity, proving once again that protecting biodiversity should be a concern of all.
