"Consummation"
Photographers Tania and Vincent are a couple who met at the Ecole Cantonale d'Art in Lausanne, where they were training in photography and graphic design.
Their work focuses on still life. The image is no longer a simple photo of natural objects frozen in time, but instead becomes a surrealist composition of collages made with objects of varying sizes; a disorienting graphic trompe l'oeil where the many different dimensions of the image are at play. Bi- and tri-dimensionality blend into one and become indistinguishable. These series of pictures are treated as stories, with each photograph representing a chapter.
In their own ways, they each answer three questions asked by Fascineshion :
If you were to draw your own portrait?
We are in love. Tania’s hair is blond with a fringe, Vincent wears big glasses, and his hair is dark. We take pictures: girls in the undergrowth, girls falling in art galleries, naked and covered in sugar icing, girls eating hamburgers with wings, jewellery with cakes, anti-wrinkle creams, cosmetics, perfume and paper kittens in the woods.
What fascinates you?
Big pretzels covered in salt and confetti.
What would you fancy tomorrow?
