Some dates become real celebrations. Yoshikata Amano’s presence at Opera de Paris is an irresistible present that will propel you out of bed.

The concept of this short-lived exhibition – 3 hours – is full of surprises.

A ballet of crystallized, immobile heroines creates a mystical and urban ambience, but these creatures are as graceful as ballerinas on the move.

Myth or reality, his main character, “EVE 9002”, represents the rebirth of a legend coming from the future. An enormous feline, a result of biomechanics, dotted with claws and cogs, is the favourite companion of the diaphanous apparition, wearing laced thigh boots ornamented with Buddhist divinities.

Two Japanese artists, Yoshikata Amano (painter and character designer) and Yoshiki Hishinuma (fashion stylist), created this entity.

In Europe Yoshikata Amano is known for the Final Fantasy series characters, and others such as Vampire Hunter D. In association with Mamoru Oshii, he is behind a cult phenomenon, Tenshi no Tamago (the Angelk’s egg), Robotech animations and video games such Front Mission: Gun Hazard.

Numerous replicas and winged chrysalis haunt the prestigious academy and present a sumptuous wardrobe, a romantic, “vertical” collection, the result of Yoshiki Hishinuma’s imagination.

Body sculptures composed of thousands of transparent tulle leaves, architectures inspired by organic elements made of vertical combinations and pleats reminiscent of origami.
“EVE 9002“ is not the result of a coincidence and time has no grasp on creation.
