Strike the pose!

" ...the presence on the web has become a very important factor in today's relationships.."

Sandro Kopp, the name sounds Greek but the artist is of German descent (and half Neo Zealander on his mother's side).
World traveler, he shares his life between Italy, Germany and New Zealand, United States, Scotland and all the world's capitals.
A first exhibit when he was a teenager, he went through The School of Alternative Arts from Wellington (New Zealand).
He was a story board artist for motion pictures. Sometimes actor, as he's got the physic and the capacity ( he can be seen in The Two Towers, the second volume of Lord of the Ring).
Multi talented artist you can say!? An evidence for the one who dreams of painting David Bowie, the man of a thousand faces.
Since then, many exhibits confirm Sandro Kopp's talent.
He fixed the problem of sitter's availability and distance with using the web and Skype. This concept came about after some web experiment with his friend and favorite model Waris Ahluwalia.
The result is a vibrant paint with lively lines. The real time capture of an electronic - optical moment, a snapshot of the model in his environment any where in the world. A instinctive perception, enigmatic sensations doubled with a Lucian Freud atmosphere. Traditional portrait and high tech homogenized without contradiction, tacitly admitting the technology's benefits and set backs, hardware quality (mostly the web cam), pixelisation and false colors, netlag and quality of the connection...
Rendering his electric friends and entourage's portraits with great dexterity, Sandro Kopp upgrades our chats and other social links to a Real Artistic Memory that will probably last a lot longer than all of our hard drives , temporary files and other cache folders....
