Wang Du, a Chinese artist based in Paris, has mastered the skill of manipulating images related to the mass media. This iconoclastic hero re-appropriates and deconstructs the spectacular of our contemporary society founded upon the logic of creation, consumption and manipulation of information, both textual and imagery.

Photography is a medium he’s been longing to work with for a long but “ I just hadn’t found the key.” According to him, “Images no longer have any value or meaning individually". They are so omnipresent that you can no longer do “something small” in art. This is how he defines his photographic work: “Image becomes pixel in this work. The quantitative leads to a qualitative change. What is visible is tangible; it’s the accumulation, not the images themselves. “
